CAIAC awards up to three $1,000 scholarships per year to youth supported by the NC Guardian ad Litem program who are attending an accredited trade or vocational school, community college or four-year-university.

CAIAC awards up to three $1,000 scholarships to to deserving youth in the foster care system of District 22A who are attending an accredited trade or vocational school, community college or four-year-university.

  • Eligibility

    Applicants must be attending or planning to attend a full-time or part-time program at an accredited university, community college, or trade/vocational institution this calendar year. 

    Applicants must have been in foster or kinship placement in Iredell or Alexander counties. 

    Applicants must be aged 25 years or less at the time of application.

  • Requirements

    Include a letter of recommendation from someone other than a relative. Possible choices are a Department of Social Services (DSS) worker, Guardian ad Litem, foster parent, employer, teacher or counselor.

    A copy of your most recent report card including cumulative GPA.

    A personal statement of at least 500 words discussing why you feel you should receive this scholarship and your goals for the future.
